Ethan's Baptism & 8th Birthday Party

Saturday, April 14th, 2012, Pete baptised Ethan and we also had his 8th birthday party.

Here's the before picture. This was the best one I got. I don't know what was so funny that they couldn't hold still for the camera!

There were four kids that got baptised from our Stake, and it was so funny to see Ethan up there with them as he was about a head taller then the rest of them!

Mindy gave a really nice 5 minute talk, that she wrote herself, about baptism. She talked about how she had a good feeling when she was baptised and about how Jesus was baptised to show us that we need to be baptised and she read the scripture Mathew 3:13-17 :
13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be abaptized of him.

14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

17 And lo a avoice from heaven, saying, This is my bbeloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

I was very proud of her, and very proud of Ethan for choosing to be baptised. I am also very happy to be married to such a wonderful man who holds the preisthood and was able to baptise Ethan, and confirm him a memeber of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

All the boys. So handsome.

Our friend, Hui, with the little man.

We went to our house afterwards, and had Pizza at the Birthday Boy's request. It was from Papa John's and it was delicious! (plus it's an easy way to feed a lot of people!)
Katie did Elle's hair strait, and didn't it look pretty!?

Mmmm, pizza!

We had a lot of family that came and showed their love to us and Ethan. I was so happy about that, but sad that I didn't really get to talk to any of them very much! I was in the kitchen most of the time finishing up the cake.

Here's little Hillary, such a doll!

And her family...
Uncle Danny, entertaining everyone as usual.

What a cute grandma and grandpa!

Grandma Lasko, and the other Lasko baby present: Dexter. Another little doll. :)

Can you tell who gave Ethan this present?

Ethan got so many legos. He was one happy boy!

George was another happy little boy. All this attention AND Balloons!?

AND.... The cake!

I was so happy Katie had come to sleep over the night before because she spent 3 hours sculpting this Starcraft cake top out of fondant, even though she had her long run to do in the morning. It probably doesn't make much sense to you if you're not a Starcraft fan (Ethan is a HUGE fan), but didn't she do an amazing job!? (I made the little bug things. Not nearly as impressive.)

We were sad to see it destroyed, but it was quite a hit and Ethan was very happy.

Ethan's such a great boy, I'm glad he had a good day!
