Hello

I have been keeping one blog on tumblr about my Ironman training, and one on here about my kids and stuff. Well it just got way too confusing and time consuming so, after obsessing and worrying about it for several days, I've decided to kind of combine them and just do this one. I don't know why I've been so worried about it, I don't think anyone is even reading these blogs. But maybe I'm wrong. I've brought all my old posts in, but it might be a little confusing since I posted them all today. Oh well, you'll get the idea. You can always go look at my tumblr blog to see these posts in their natural environment.

Back to the point, though.

Today I went to spin class, and it was great. It was fun and challenging, and the time went by pretty fast. I think I'll start going to it every Thursday. We did a lot of strength work today (hills) so that was good. I hear there are some pretty hard hills on the Coeur d'Alene course. I've noticed that doing hills is still hard, of course, but I think I recover a lot quicker than I used to. When I'm ready to get going again, I look around and a lot of the class still seems to be trying to recover. Of course, I don't know how I look. Maybe to them I look like I'm dying. Don't you hate it how the instructors always look so great with their hair all done and their cute outfits that they hardly even sweat in. I wonder if one of the job descriptions is, "Must look good after an intense, hour-long workout." I don't think I could ever be a Spin Class Instructor.

On the way home from the gym, there was a sign on the freeway that said this: "AIR QUALITY WARNING. TOMORROW LIMIT DRIVING." So I'm trying to decide how I can limit my driving tomorrow. Should I just skip swimming? I don't want to be one of those people who think they are an exception to a rule because they're "training for an ironman", or whatever. I know I'm not an exception, and I don't want to contribute to the smog so I'm going to look into taking a bus or train up to Bountiful, or just skipping it all together. What a bummer.

  1. Seriously, I don't know how anyone can stand spin class. I do the bike every once in a while at the gym but then my butt is bruised for a week! You're awesome!

  2. Yeah, you really have to do it for a while for your behind to get used to it. That's one of the hardest things. Luckily, there's such thing as padded shorts.
