10 Weeks to Ironman - Happy Easter

Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a great day. Easter is such a wonderful holiday. We had a mixed Easter and birthday party in Heber so there was a LOT of sugar. It was a lot of fun, though.

A lot of biking coming up this week! My legs are sore and the thought of that doesn't make me very excited right now. I'm sure it will be fun though (let's just hope it doesn't snow too much)!

  2. The snow has actually all melted (except in the mountains) and it is just beautiful, but snow is in the forecast for Wednesday. It says the low is 34, though, so I'm thinking/hoping it will just be rain. I don't want it to freeze our peach tree blossoms that are just starting!

  3. Happy Easter to you too Colleen.

I'm thinking of doing a special blog entry where I read a book that's somehow would tie into your charity fundraiser for the malaria nets and then putting a link to it from my page. But I still haven't settled on what book - I can't decide if the book theme should be related to Africa, or if I should read a book that has something to do with charity work in general, or something related to the Ironman that you're training for. So I thought I would ask for your thoughts on the subject.

  4. That is so awesome, Angie! Thank you for thinking of that! I've been getting kind of discouraged about the whole fundraising thing because I'm not a good salesman and it's just going really slowly so far.

As far as suggestions go, I wish I knew of a book about an Ironman, but the only Ironman books I know of are training manuals. I haven't read them, that's my husband's area.

Maybe just a book that deals with malaria would be good, but when I try to look something up, all I get is medical journals and stuff. . .

Here are a few triathlon books that might be good (I have not read them so I can only point you to my amazon searches):

Transformed by Triathlon: The Making of an Improbable AthleteSlow Fat Triathlete: Live Your Athletic Dreams in the Body You Have NowThese both kind of remind me of me so they would easily tie into my Ironman and my charity. Thanks again, you are so awesome!
